Sponsored by General Management and made up of women and men who are passionate about the importance of diversity within the company at all levels, the purpose of this international network created in 2013 is to enable career development for women, raise awareness and train employees about gender equality and make sure everyone’s voice is heard through working groups focusing on specific subjects
As homophobia in the workplace is still a taboo subject, the Legrand Rainbow network was created in 2019 by employees themselves. Its aim is to promote an inclusive corporate culture where everyone has the possibility of expressing themselves and their diversity within the Group, and to be themselves at work as part of the LGBT+ community.
Established in July 2020, the “Black Professional Network” supports African-American employees at Legrand North & Central America. Working at Legrand means making living well together a reality
To celebrate cultural diversity and international dialogue, Group employees have organised several “Language Cafés”. These involve 30 minutes of remote conversations to discover a new language over tea or coffee.
A friendly atmosphere and a real moment of togetherness during which employees in over 30 countries got together to learn English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Italian.
To celebrate Diwali, Indian students completing an internship at Legrand wanted to share this traditional Indian festival with their colleagues at Group head office in Limoges. The Indian festival of light, which is also a celebration of openness and discovering others, came to light up the Legrand headquarters.
During the COVID-19 health crisis, the Legrand community rallied around the hashtag #legrandsolidarity to share the various solidarity and support initiatives which were implemented within the Group in France and abroad. It reflected the creativity and capacity to adapt when resuming business on-site and remotely, to be celebrated together and on video.
The Legrand Foundation, whose purpose is ‘Generating Independence’, was launched in March 2014, with the aim of combating exclusion related to a loss of independence and electricity poverty, and promoting equal employment opportunities in the electrical industry. It was the first foundation created under the aegis of the FACE foundation, a French non-profit anti-exclusion organisation. It is at the heart of Legrand’s social responsibility.
Legrand LNA’s “Better Communities” programme focuses on 3 areas to organise volunteering, donations and partnerships:
Better Homes : building and improving homes for those in need,
Better Schools : improving the performance of learning spaces and the students who use them,
Better Recovery : providing donations or volunteering assistance to organisations dedicated to aid and reconstruction after a national or natural disaster
Joining Legrand means joining a Group that promotes sharing experiences, mutual enrichment between the generations, and which does everything it can to make its new employees feel welcome.
Welcome Days are organised throughout the year, an initiative launched in France and rolled out abroad in the form of onboarding sessions for new employees who join Legrand. They provide information about the Group, its careers and perspectives, through employee testimonies.
